Magic Of I Astrological Planner Overview

I was initially drawn to the Magic of I planner because I thought it was so beautiful and was starting to become more intrigued with the influences of the moon and my own cycles (if you’re interested in learning more about the stars, check out my beginner’s guide to astrology here).

Now, I use it not only to organise my life (which has in and of itself been a huge help to me with its daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals and actionable steps), but also as a daily journal (which has immensely helped my stress management too, you can read more about my journalling practices here).

All in all, it’s been a big game changer for me and I look forward to having it as part of my life for years to come! What’s Included In A Magic Of I Astrological Planner?

Let me start by telling you it’s A LOT. There’s over 42 pages of information just at the beginning! It’s a really detailed, comprehensive astrological planner that has also been broken down so that’s easy to use for beginners and not too overwhelming.

For example, if you’re not familiar with all of the planets’ characteristics and what their aspects (position in relation to each other) mean, then there is a super awesome “Optimum Times Life Guide” which basically summarises for you what the energy of that day will be.

This could anything from “Power On'“ where it’s good for getting things done etc. but can be challenging for butting heads; to “Shadowy Deep” which is an optimal day for access to our subterranean inner depths but can also be challenging for its intensity if ignored or suppressed. There are 12 “Optimum Times” in total and they are relayed for you in the monthly and daily overview too.

Then, the introduction also explains what all the signs, including the elements, and planets mean, what the houses represent and other characteristics such as identifying body part, metal, day of the week, and mode it is a part of. It also lists all of the eclipses, retrogrades and void-course-moons of the year (which are again represented in the monthly and weekly overview too).

The introduction also goes into specifically the energy of the moon and how the different phases can have a different effect on us and how best to approach these times. I particularly like how this is tied into our menstrual cycle- whether yours syncs with the moon or not (if you have one) it’s a great tracking system, I learnt so much about myself! You can read more on my period journey here.

Another feature I particularly like that’s included in the planner is the yearly intention setting space that is broken down into 8 key areas of life and a space to then clearly and succinctly summarise what are your top 5 priorities to work towards for the year.

It’s also further broken down into actionable steps which is really useful to not get overwhelmed! Then, at the beginning of each month and week, you’ve got your goals and actionable steps as well as a space to put your weekly intention in the daily planner section so you don’t have to keep going backwards and forwards and can make sure you’re always on track.

There’s a yearly calendar, and then a monthly calendar at the start of each month too, featuring all of the important dates, Optimal Times, moon signs and other astrological transits. I also love that at the start of each month you can see a quick overview of the most important transits and what are the themes of the month.

For example, for May the overarching theme is on stability, self worth and money. The reflection for the new moon is: I deserve solid foundations, my value is beyond my possessions. The reflection for the full moon is: Stability allows me the power to let go, merge and transform. It’s like a spirit guide and organisational tool all in one!

Basically this planner is absolutely jam-packed with not only information but also lovely quotes, illustrations and so many other small details you’ll be continuously discovering and learning something new, and is a real testament to the amount of love that was clearly poured into the creation of this planner.

Finally, if you’re a seasoned astrologer, it has a complete ephemeris for the whole year at the back, and some blank pages for extra notes if you need it too.

One last nice touch is that 1% of all profits go towards land conservation and rehabilitation projects, it's printed in Europe on sustainable paper with vegan leather covers, plant-based shrink wrap, organic cotton bags and plastic-free shipping!

The astrological planner comes in a beautiful cream or black but they have other colours available for their plain journals and other products, you can check out the full range available here. I first bought the cream one and even though I was originally a bit worried it would get stained or dirty quickly, I’m pleased to say it hasn’t at all! And I can personally attest to how beautifully soft the cover is and especially smooth the paper is to write on!

NEW FOR 2023: Medicinal mushroom monthly alignment, learn all about the magic of the fungi world! Every year Magic of I adds in extra details. Since I first started using mine many years ago now, they have added Tarot correspondences, gardening by the Moon, and planetary days.

How I Use My Planner

First, I start by setting my intentions in each of the 8 key areas of life and actionable steps for the year and then a summary of 5 main intentions for year- this doesn’t need to be done only at the start of the year however! Any time is great for making a change and implementing some inspiration into your life.

Then, at the beginning of each month, after looking over what the monthly themes etc. are, I set my goals and intentions, before finally breaking it down into 4 weekly goals with actionable steps.

Finally, at the end of every day before bed, I write down a brief summary of what I did that day, adding in anything else to do in the following days, and check what I’ve got coming up the day after and what the astrological alignments/Optimal Times say the theme for the next day will be.

Then, when my period starts I track it in the menstrual cycle calendar and see where I am in relation to the moon phases and check in with what “season” this correlates to for added info on how to work more in sync with my own body.

All in all, I truly believe everyone should have an astrological planner in their life haha and I’m sure you won’t regret investing in one- in fact, it will most likely change your life for the better! Not only will you be more in tune with the earth, cosmos, yourself, your goals and your future, but you’ll be more organised and productive in the process too.

So that’s my personal review of the Magic Of I Astrological Planner, I hope it’s been of use to you.
